Hinesburg Historical Society Looks Forward to the Past

(June 2008)
Seventeen Hinesburg residents gathered in the Town Hall on June 26, 2008 to peruse old photographs and documents, to trade stories about past residents, homes, and businesses, and to discuss the future of the Hinesburg Historical Society.

Future goals of the Historical Society may include incorporating as a non-profit organization, continuing the work of creating a digital archive of photos, documents, and artifacts begun by Ann Thomas and Suzanne Richard at the two One-Day Museums held in January 2008 and 2007, and finding a permanent home for the materials that have been collected over the years by the Historical Society.

The town vault will be opened at the next meeting to give members a tour and introduction to the documents, deeds, and maps that trace the lives of Hinesburg residents.

The Society welcomes new members, old and young, to join us as we find ways to share and preserve these stories.

The Hinesburg Historical Society meets the fourth Thursday of each month downstairs in the Town Hall.
